Inclusion: Pushing Past Well-Meaning
Presented by Joanne Reeck, United For Change
As global citizens, practicing inclusion in our work and personal lives takes more than our well-meaning intentions. It takes a lifelong commitment to regularly and purposefully affirming diversity and seeking equity everywhere we can, all while working to grow our personal intercultural competency and knowledge of social injustice. This workshop will touch on the true meaning of diversity and the undeniable need for equity, in addition to provide participants with a detailed look at common cultural differences in communication and conflicting-solving styles. This workshop will also highlight common misunderstandings and behaviors that undo many efforts at creating inclusive organizations.
