Position Overview

Join us in lighting the “Spark” in every student. We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and passionate full-time Youth Programs “Spark Manger” to lead a renewed vision for “out of school” programming. This role is central to designing, building, and overseeing after-school enrichment and athletic programs across our four elementary school, coordinating Targeted Services summer programming, and delivering engaging community and family events that foster connection, belonging, and Panther pride.  As a member of our “Spark” Team you will work to ensure each student feels valued, inspired and have a sense of belonging – laying the foundation for personal and academic success.

As a Youth Programs “Spark” Manager you will report to the Community Education Coordinator, and will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to our students and families through engaging, inspiring and diverse programming. This position will be instrumental in the design, delivery and evaluation of programs. A strong partnership with community organizations, service-learning opportunities and connecting our students to our community will be expected.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, build, and oversee high-quality after-school enrichment and athletic programs at our four elementary schools
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with local youth athletic organizations to increase student access, participation, and collaboration with the schools
  • Lead the planning and implementation of inclusive, engaging family and community events throughout the year
  • Oversee and coordinate Summer Targeted Services programming in collaboration with district staff
  • Provide exceptional service to students, families, and community partners through responsive communication and a focus on continuous improvement
  • Partner with schools, instructors, and community stakeholders to create meaningful learning and connection opportunities outside of the school day

Primary Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, coordinate, and evaluate after-school and summer programs aligned to student interests and district goals
  • Build positive relationships with students and families through engaging program experiences
  • Cultivate partnerships with youth athletic associations to expand accessibility and participation
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff
  • Contract with external providers and manage vendor relationships
  • Market programs district-wide and maintain accurate information for digital catalogs
  • Oversee program logistics including registration, payroll, and attendance tracking
  • Monitor enrollment, review feedback, and provide regular program reports to the Community Education Coordinator 
  • Collaborate with school leaders, support staff, and community organizations to ensure program alignment and success
  • Plan and execute family and community events, including logistics, registration, and day-of coordination
  • Promote a positive image of Spring Lake Park Schools and Community Education programs
  • Manage budgets for youth and summer programs, including pursuit of grants or other funding when appropriate

Qualifications

  • A.A. in the areas of education, community education, recreation, youth development or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Evidence of successful experience in program planning and leadership
  • Evidence of innovation, creativity and self-initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, volunteers, the community, vendors, instructors and demonstrated ability to relate well to youth
  • Demonstrate technical experience with computer systems, databases, reporting tools and accounting and software applications 
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours 

Preferences

  • Highly prefer multi-lingual candidate with the ability to engage our community and families
  • Demonstrated ability to create and support and inclusive environment for all 
  • Grant writing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in community education, recreations, youth services, or related area

Salary Range: 

Group Unaffiliated 2
Position Community Education Youth and Family Enrichment Program Manager
Rate of Pay $45,000-$60,000/year (placement determined based on experience and qualifications)
Benefits Medical, Dental, Sick Leave, 403(b), Life, LTD, FSA
Other Salary pro-rated based on start date.
