Dassel-Cokato Schools is looking to add a talented, passionate, professional to help further our mission of educating and inspiring all learners to maximize their potential, promote lifelong learning, and become contributing members of society.  Responsible for directing, managing, and providing leadership in the development and implementation of the school district’s community services, including community education, communications, and health services.

Duties:

  • Leads, directs, and manages the planning, development, evaluation, and improvement of community education programs including youth and adult enrichment and recreation programs, early childhood and school readiness programs, aquatics, school-age and preschool childcare, health and safety, youth development, facility use, and the DC Recreation Center.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive communications plan encompassing internal and external messaging, website management, social media engagement, school district branding, crisis communications, referendum campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develops, manages and monitors budgets for community services programs ensuring effective allocation and alignment with district and program goals.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders, fostering collaboration, creating opportunities, and addressing local needs through targeted community programs.
  • Work to provide district-level leadership, sharing strategic goals and district-wide initiatives, through active participation in the Superintendent’s Administrative Team, District Rounding Team, Community Education Advisory Council, Early Childhood Advisory Council, and Glacial Lakes ABE Consortium.
  • Increases opportunities for two-way communication by offering effective community engagement programs that raise awareness of Dassel-Cokato School’s strategic priorities.
  • Manage district facility use, ensuring equitable access for community groups and events, while overseeing scheduling, and policy compliance.
  • Supervises and supports the district’s Licensed School Nurse and Health Services Department’s to create and sustain a school environment that promotes and supports student health and well-being.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and responsibilities effectively
  • Budget management
  • Grant writing experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • MN Community Education Director License
