National Community Education Week

Community Education connects generations. It extends the reach of our schools and shows up in Adults with Disabilities classes, Athletics and Recreation programs, Adult Enrichment, Adult Basic Education and GED classes, Aquatics, Early Childhood programs, Facilities, School Aged Child Care, Senior Enrichment programs, Targeted Services, Youth Enrichment and Development, and Volunteer Programming across school districts and communities that serve people throughout their lives.

It shows up in the staff, instructors, volunteers, partners, and community members who make it happen. And it shows up in everyday moments: a parent and child learning together, a young person discovering a new passion, an adult building a new skill, or neighbors becoming friends through a shared experience.

Together, these moments create lasting community impact. They build relationships, strengthen a sense of belonging, expand knowledge and skills, connect people to resources and one another, and help create stronger, more connected communities.

This is where learning connects generations, one opportunity, one connection, one community at a time.

National Community Education Week

National Community Education Week is held the second week of November each year, November 9-13 in 2026. It is a national celebration of Community Education and its role in bringing people of all generations together to learn, grow, and connect.

National Community Education Day

National Community Education Day is held the second Thursday of November each year, November 12 in 2026. It is a national day of recognition and gratitude for the people who make Community Education possible in their schools, communities, and beyond.

Share your story. Celebrate your community. Thank someone who makes an impact.

National Community Education Toolkit

The National Community Education Toolkit was created to make promoting, celebrating, and building awareness of Community Education easier, more consistent, and more impactful.

To support Community Education programs of all sizes and capacities, we have included both Week and Day versions of many resources. Whether you are planning a full week of activities or focusing on one meaningful day, there is something here you can use to participate in a way that works for you.

Inside, you’ll find ready-to-use messaging, logos, graphics, templates, and resources designed to save time and help you share the impact of Community Education in your community. Whether you use one resource or build an entire campaign, the Toolkit gives you a strong foundation for sharing a unified message while still allowing you to customize it to fit your needs.
