Dear MCEA Members,

It is a true honor to serve as your 2026 MCEA president. My journey in community education has been shaped by over 30 years in community education, which includes having the privilege to serve as Director for Stillwater Area Public Schools for the last 12.

Outside of work, my husband and I are enjoying life as empty nesters in the beautiful city of Stillwater. While our two daughters have moved out, they live nearby, allowing us frequent visits to see them, our son-in-law, and our “grand-kitties.” It’s during these visits that we especially love to offer plenty of unsolicited advice about adulting. Our daughters grew up experiencing the incredible community education programming at Roseville Area Schools, so I have seen the impact of our work both as a leader and as a parent. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading, cooking, or enjoying time with friends.

Having seen firsthand the power our field has to change lives, I am deeply committed to supporting the vital work you do. The MCEA mission—to provide the leadership, resources, and support necessary to sustain innovative programming across Minnesota—is more essential now than ever.

As your president, I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where we can all learn, grow, and succeed together. Our efforts are guided by three key pillars:

• Engagement: Building stronger connections within our communities.
• Sustainability: Ensuring our programs have the longevity to thrive.
• Professional Growth: Providing the tools and development our members deserve.

I am excited to share the specific plans we have in place to further these goals. Together, we will build on these foundations to create even more opportunities for success across the state. I look forward to continuing this meaningful journey alongside each of you.
