Position: Summer Site Manager – EPIC Connection Summer Program

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00, hours may vary

Summary: This position will provide leadership and oversee the summer EPIC Connection program at John Glenn Middle School.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a schedule of engaging activities for middle school-aged children in a choice-based environment.
- Provide work direction and supervision of program assistants, paraeducators, and special needs paraeducators.
- Create and maintain a positive environment through supportive relationships, modeling active engagement with children, effective behavior management, and problem-solving.
- Work with the Adventure Connection Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategy to ensure their site provides equitable services to families.
- Maintain open and cooperative relationships with families. Maintain communication with families through site newsletters, calendars, and email updates.
- Meet regularly with program staff to provide leadership, direction, and supervision.
- Conduct and document safety drills.
- Maintain interest areas, bulletin boards, supplies, visual schedule, equipment, and the neatness of the program space and building environment.
- Assure program policies, procedures, safety protocols, and quality youth development standards are followed.
- Manage site budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years of SAC equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years’ full-time site leadership experience in school-age care/out-of-school-time programs, providing work direction and supervising adult staff
- Knowledge of best practices and quality standards in out-of-school-time programming
- Inter-cultural competency with excellent human relation skills and experience working with diverse students, staff, and families
- Excellent planning and delegation skills, with the ability to be flexible
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise mature judgment
- Current certification or ability to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
