Location: John Glenn Middle School
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:00, hours may vary
Start Date: May 1, 2026 – August 28, 2026

Summary: This position will provide leadership and oversee the summer EPIC Connection program at John Glenn Middle School.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  1. Plan and implement a schedule of engaging activities for middle school-aged children in a choice-based environment.
  2. Provide work direction and supervision of program assistants, paraeducators, and special needs paraeducators.
  3. Create and maintain a positive environment through supportive relationships, modeling active engagement with children, effective behavior management, and problem-solving.
  4. Work with the Adventure Connection Leadership Team to develop and implement a strategy to ensure their site provides equitable services to families.
  5. Maintain open and cooperative relationships with families. Maintain communication with families through site newsletters, calendars, and email updates.
  6. Meet regularly with program staff to provide leadership, direction, and supervision.
  7. Conduct and document safety drills.
  8. Maintain interest areas, bulletin boards, supplies, visual schedule, equipment, and the neatness of the program space and building environment.
  9. Assure program policies, procedures, safety protocols, and quality youth development standards are followed.
  10. Manage site budget.
  11. Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years of SAC equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of two years’ full-time site leadership experience in school-age care/out-of-school-time programs, providing work direction and supervising adult staff
  3. Knowledge of best practices and quality standards in out-of-school-time programming
  4. Inter-cultural competency with excellent human relation skills and experience working with diverse students, staff, and families
  5. Excellent planning and delegation skills, with the ability to be flexible
  6. Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to work independently and exercise mature judgment
  8. Current certification or ability to become certified in CPR and First Aid.
