- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Youth Development, Community Education, or closely related field
- Minimum of three years of experience supervising staff and managing school-age care or similar programs
- Inter-cultural competency with excellent human relation skills and experience working with diverse communities
- Knowledge of best practice/quality in School-Age Care programs
- Creativity and passion for maximizing the impact of school age care programs for positive youth development
- Excellent program management skills such as supervision, program development, budgeting, marketing & evaluation
- Demonstrated ability in creating a vision, fostering buy-in and facilitating implementation of new programs and services
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and registration systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, to meet program needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or Administrative License
- Experience supervising staff and programs at both an individual school level and district level
- Experience successfully implementing MAAP accreditation
Responsibilities:
- Administer and direct a high quality district-wide School-Age Care program
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise staff (School-Age Care Facilitator, Inclusion Facilitator, Clerk, Site Managers and Paraprofessionals)
- Provide leadership to program staff, including goal-setting, development, coaching and evaluation
- Meet regularly with program staff and make site visits to provide support and assure consistent program quality
- Prepare and manage program budgets; authorize program expenditures and allocations including timesheets, independent contractor invoices and contract for service forms; determine class, activity and event pricing
- Research, design and implement new program areas to support students and families
- Develop systems and procedures for effective and efficient program delivery
- Work with Marketing Specialist on a marketing plan including news releases, flyers, website, sound bites in district publication, advertisements in community publications, as well as email marketing and social media
- Facilitate collaboration between Community Education, District 622 schools and other organizations in order to maximize the potential of school age care programs to meet student and family needs
- Proactively create opportunities for family engagement, such as through facilitation of an advisory council. Address student, family and staff concerns as they arise
- Assure program policies, procedures, goals and objectives align with district direction and practices as well as quality and safety standards
- Conduct program evaluation and use data to inform decisions in providing high quality and responsive programming
