Supervisor: Child Care Coordinator
Location: Shirley Hills Primary School (4-5 year olds); 2450 Wilshire Blvd, Mound, MN 55346
Schedule: Monday – Friday Straight shift 40 hours a week (set hours daily to be determined by the Child Care Coordinator)
Rate of Pay: $19.00- $24.00 based on education and experience; also eligible for single coverage of medical, dental and vision, Life/LTD insurance, sick leave, personal leave, vacation and holiday pay
Job Summary: Plan, develop, coordinate, promote, and evaluate a high-quality preschool child care program. Effectively mentor and manage program staff.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or a related field preferred. Demonstrate the ability to perform the primary functions of this position. Must possess strong written and verbal communication, leadership skills, computer skills, and have the ability to work with diverse groups of people. Knowledge of Pyramid Model and Creative Curriculum preferred.
Duties:

- Plan daily activities using the Creative Curriculum for the Preschool Adventure Club program.

- Ability to complete Pyramid Model, Classroom Engagement and Creative Curriculum training and collaborate with early childhood staff.

- Attend early childhood team meetings, open houses, and other district training as scheduled by the Child Care Coordinator.4

- Provide direct supervision to the children enrolled in the program.

- Attend leadership and preschool team meetings as scheduled by the Early Childhood team.

- Direct staff in the Preschool Adventure Club program. This involves assigning staff to daily tasks, mentoring them, etc.

- Ability to address and resolve student discipline issues for children enrolled in the program.

- Provide customer service and establish relationships with parents and children in the program. Work with parents and district staff to plan for and provide reasonable accommodations to ensure student success in the program.

- Monthly email communication to families with children in the program highlighting a few projects you will be doing that month, special events, upcoming School’s Out Day reminders, etc.

- Ability to serve as a strong leader. This includes the ability to supervise, direct, mentor and evaluate program staff.

- Responsible for weekly staff schedules and daily communication with program staff.

- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Child Care Coordinator.

- Responsibilities during the summer program TBD. When needed, Site Supervisors may be scheduled to work with our K-4 or Middle School during the summer months.
