Join us for the first Minnesota Recreation, Aquatics and Community Center Conference, taking place Aug. 17 – 19, 2022 at the River’s Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud. There will be tours of facilities, vendors and breakout sessions all related to those areas.

Leadership Days – Feb. 17 & 18 at the Best Western Kelly Inn – St. Cloud

To kick things off on Thursday morning, we will have SSG John Kriesel. Mr. Kriesel is a local veteran and KFAN contributor who lost his legs during an IED explosion while serving our country. He will speak to us about his experience and how to have a positive view on life.
We will also have Dr. Jim Johnson, professor at Moorhead State and former Superintendent at Monticello speaking on the future of education in MN and elsewhere.
You don’t want to miss the lifetime achievement award presentation (Karen Willers & Charlie Blesener), our legislative update, Ursula Pottinga and more. Join us for this day and a half of keynotes and group discussions.

Pre-conference info:

The ABE Foundations pre-conference session is 9.5 hours long. The session begins on Tuesday, August 13 (1:30 pm-7:30 pm) and continues on Wednesday, August 14 (8:15-11:45 am).  Participants must attend both days.  Tuesday dinner and Wednesday breakfast are included in the pre-conference registration fee.

The CCRS Foundations pre-conference sessions (ELA and Math) are each  7.5 hours long. The sessions begin on Tuesday, August 13 (3:30 pm-7:30 pm) and continue on Wednesday, August 14 (8:15-11:45 am).  Participants must attend both days.  Tuesday dinner and Wednesday breakfast are included in the pre-conference registration fee.

Get Started with Google’s Applied Digital Skills in your Classroom

In this session, you will receive a deep dive professional development training on Google’s Applied Digital Skills curriculum. Applied Digital Skills is a free, online and video-based curriculum that you can use in the classroom with your students to teach them the basic digital skills needed for today’s evolving job market.

Participants will need to bring their own device (laptop or Chromebook). Familiarity with Google applications is recommended. This session is offered through a partnership with COABE. For more detailed information see the LAN website here.
