Youth Development/Service Coordinator. 40 hours/week year round position. Salary range: $50,000-$55,000
This position is responsible for the supervision of all youth development and service programming for Community Education, including leading the youth driver’s education program and activities such as Wheelies Family Bike Event, Destination Imagination, Student Voting MN, STARS, and other youth volunteer service opportunities during the school year and summer months as needed/identified.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Community Education team member, be a part of the planning and execution of all community education special events.
Attend community education staff meetings.
Attend community education advisory council meetings as needed and/or requested.
This position will require a willingness to be flexible regarding the daily work schedule to attend evening/weekend and summer meetings/trainings when needed and appropriate.
Create and monitor annual budgets of responsibility to successfully implement youth development/service/driver’s education and special events programming to meet goals and objectives.
Work collaboratively with secondary school staff to develop, nurture and lead youth development and service programs and services.
Partner with district staff and community agencies to maximize opportunities for students, staff, and program participants.
Provide leadership in and with our youth driver’s education program; both classroom and behind-the-wheel for students ages 15-18.
Along with our community, maintain the youth development plan and create a youth development/service advisory council.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
1-3 years of relevant experience required
Ability to work independently under time constraints and set priorities with minimal supervision
Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate financial data
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely; both orally and in writing
Excellent interpersonal skill, ability to provide a high level of customer service, and establish and maintain effective communications and relationships
Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills
A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and programming
Experience working with and leading special events would be a plus
