Description: Orono Early Learning Assistant Coordinator
Be a part of the Orono Early Learning team working to build a solid foundation for children’s future school and life success! This is a full time/year round position. Benefits are included. Under direction of the Early Learning Coordinator, the Assistant Coordinator oversees the daily operations of Orono Early Learning Programs. The ideal candidate has a passion for supporting young children and their families and the staff who teach and care for them. Careful attention to detail and efficiency is needed to ensure programs meet and maintain DHS, MDE and NAEYC requirements/standards; promote and implement program philosophies; work closely with staff, children and families to provide quality learning environments; and perform related work as required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The following list is intended to be descriptive and not restrictive in nature.Maintain knowledge of relevant and current State, federal and District policies and regulations and assure that site operations and personnel are in compliance.
Maintain and coordinate staff schedules to assure coverage in accordance with applicable regulations and efficient use of personnel.
Manage enrollment and waiting lists of all Early Learning Programs.
Set up classes and events in Eleyo (program registration/management system).
Assist families with scholarship inquiries and submit and maintain monthly scholarship invoices to appropriate agencies.
General accounting duties: purchasing, deposits, and invoicing.
Collaborate with other staff to coordinate facilities usage at the Discovery Center.
Attend meetings and provide support for the Orono Early Learning Parent Group.
Maintain student records in accordance with DHS, MDE and program policies.
Work with the Program Assistant to provide excellent customer service and regular communication to families.
Collaborate with the Community Education Marketing Coordinator to promote programs and events.
Schedule and conduct tours with perspective families.
Attend trainings and meetings as necessary.
Assist in planning, organizing, and attending school sponsored events.
Work with district personnel to maintain student information systems.
Participate with the Early Learning Coordinator and Community Education Director in the development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of a quality Early Childhood Program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Current and best practices for inclusive early childhood education settings.
Basic needs and characteristics of infant, toddler, and preschool children.
Early childhood development and appropriate practices.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Standard office productivity software such as Microsoft Office and Google applications.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly desired.
Salary/Wage: $17.00-$19.00 DOQ
