Columbia Heights Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Coordinator to oversee our ECFE and childcare programs.

Position Details:Work calendar is all year (261 days)
Full-time, 1.0 FTE (benefit eligible)
Salary: Dependent upon education and experience
Non-affiliated employee group
Position will be available to start as soon as possible

General Definition of Work
Performs difficult administrative work overseeing early childhood programs; implementing long-range goals through
programs and services for the betterment of the community, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is
performed under the general direction of the Director of Community Education.  Programming supervision is exercised
over early childhood staff and student teachers.

Qualifications:
Requires valid MN teaching license in Early Childhood (ECFE) / Pre-Kindergarten Education / Parent Educator License.

Essential Functions
Supervises and manages the staff and programming for early childhood family education, mini adventures, pre-k3, community education home visiting, outreach and early childhood screening programs.
Oversees personnel performance and evaluates non-licensed personnel performance; establishes and conveys goals, creates programs to aid in meeting goals.
Provides public relations and community engagement; markets and advertises programs; works with the public for assessing community needs and interests; works with community agencies to deliver services for the betterment of the community; serves as a conduit for information on early childhood and family education services and programs.
Works closely with the Early Childhood Advisory Council to plan, develop and implement long range goals for the programs.
Serves as a connection with the community organizations with similar focus.
Serves as a family involvement resource for the district.
Oversees the development and implementation of program goals, objective and procedures in assigned areas; works closely with external organizations for planning, needs assessment and in the development of long range plans for the programs.
Provides expertise and assistance to individuals, other staff and the community concerning early childhood and parent education.

Comprehensive knowledge of early childhood indicators of programs and parent education core curriculum; thorough
knowledge of district manuals, policies, rules and regulations; comprehensive knowledge of standard office equipment;
thorough knowledge of developing, formulating and evaluating community education programs; thorough knowledge of
goal development; thorough knowledge of supervisory and management skills; thorough knowledge of developing
collaborative partnerships; thorough knowledge of promoting, advertising and public relations of community
educational programs; thorough knowledge of local, state and federal laws pertaining to community education; thorough
knowledge of district policies and procedures; thorough knowledge of needs assessment, data collection and program
evaluation tools; thorough knowledge of standard office software; comprehensive skill completing data entry,
performance evaluations and financial records; thorough skill operating standard office hardware and software; thorough
knowledge operating standard accounting software; ability to make mathematical computations using whole numbers,
fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to understand and apply governmental
accounting practices in maintenance of financial records; ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents
and other district stakeholders both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain working relationships with
associates, parents, students, community members and other community agencies.
