Adult Education Beginning Levels ESL teacher (.41 FTE), Lakeville Area Adult Education

Position Description:

The beginning levels adult ESL teacher provides English reading, writing, speaking, and listening instruction to students who are 17 and older and not enrolled in high school. Duties include:

  • Planning and teaching lessons for beginning English language learners
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress.
  • Collecting and recording necessary information related to students.
  • Integrate technology instruction into lessons.
  • Plan work for classroom volunteers.
  • Track and submit student attendance.
  • Attend Professional Learning Community meetings (PLCs) and staff meetings.

Qualifications:  

  • Current MN teaching license
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prefer one year teaching experience

Hours:
4 hours/day on average, 4 days per week in the morning (Monday – Thursday)
Class teaching time 9:30am- 12pm + flexible prep time, meetings, PLCS, and professional development opportunities. Excellent team of teachers and support staff. Growing program and beautiful classroom environment.
