Job level 6: $24.71-$31.80 per hour (based on qualification/experience), plus benefits

8.5 hours onsite, eight hours paid with 30 minutes of unpaid meal time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 – 4:30 and occasional nights and weekends.

OVERVIEW
This position provides support across all Community Education programs, with primary focus on Enrichment programs for adults and youth including program development, class registration, catalog production, staff and participant support, community development, and public relations. Works in collaboration with the Community Education team to design and deliver programs that respond to market trends, community needs, and available resources. Positions Available:
- Windows of Opportunity (adults with disabilities), Adaptive Arts and Culture Enrichment offerings. These program areas offer inclusive opportunities that enrich the lives of community members through creativity, connection, and personal growth. Windows of Opportunity provides social, recreational, and skill-building experiences for adults with disabilities, while Adaptive Arts and Culture Enrichment ensures that adult and youth participants with diverse abilities can participate fully in enriching activities in visual arts, theater, music, and cultural experiences that celebrate expression and community. Together, these offerings promote accessibility, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
- Older Adult, Adaptive STEM and Clubs. These program areas provide meaningful, inclusive opportunities for engaging, hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation for learners of all ages. Older Adult programming offers social, recreational, and educational experiences designed to support healthy aging and lifelong learning. Adaptive STEM and Club programs encourage exploration in science, technology, engineering, and math through classes, workshops, and community events. Club activities provide opportunities for students and community members to connect around shared interests, develop new skills, and build a sense of belonging.
- Swim, Adaptive Sports and Recreation. These program areas provide youth and adults with opportunities to learn new skills, stay active, and build connections through recreation and enrichment. Swim includes swimming lessons, water safety education, and aquatic fitness opportunities that promote health and lifelong skills. Adaptive Sports and Recreation programs offer recreational and competitive activities that foster teamwork, skill development, and healthy lifestyles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff for the Basement at one of the following sites: Plymouth Middle School, Sandburg Middle School, Fair-Crystal Middle School.
- Supervise Rdale Community Education summer program (i.e. The Basement, Summer Explorers, Super Summer Explorers, and Swim).
- Recruit, interview, and support enrichment instructors, event hosts, and volunteers; provide new instructor informational sessions, orientation, classroom setup and safety guidance, and all other community education business practices.
- Collect and analyze program and participant feedback data to inform program improvement, marketing strategies and class prices.
- Monitor program quality, participant satisfaction, and enrollment data for continuous improvement.
- Identify trends and opportunities to expand programming in arts, recreation, wellness, academics, technology, and cultural engagement.
- Support catalog and marketing production, including gathering content, editing, and coordinating printing and distribution. Collaborate on Enrichment programs social media, website, finalsite, flyers, e-newsletters, and other marketing mediums.
- Design, implement, and manage enrichment programs for adults and youth that meet community interests and district goals.
- Develop and promote offerings for older adults and seniors, focusing on social connection, lifelong learning, and health/wellness.
- Develop and promote offerings for primary and secondary students, focusing on social connection, youth development, and youth voice.
- Ensure programs are inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities, including adaptive recreation and accommodations to reduce barriers.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Rdale Community Education programs at school and community engagement events, by proactively seeking out and attending district sponsored events, community events, and cultural celebrations to build strong relationships with community stakeholders.
- Partner with local organizations, businesses, libraries, faith communities, senior living facilities, group homes, and nonprofits to co-create enrichment opportunities that respond to community needs.
- Complete and support special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in education, youth development, recreation, community development, or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience assisting community education programs or related programs.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as program needs require.
- Swim position requires Red Cross certifications in Lifeguard, LGI, WSI or ability to gain certification within 90 days of hire.

- Previous experience in program coordination, youth/adult enrichment, or community engagement.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, accessibility, and cultural responsiveness with a focus on inclusive practices for all abilities.
- Experience in building partnerships, outreach, and collaborative initiatives, especially with disability services, senior organizations, and equity-focused groups.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- District policies and procedures.
- Web-based registration systems, analysis of data, and computer software programs.
- Computer applications related to the work.
- Most current digital/online communications tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and heavy phone usage. Occasional travel required to locations throughout the District and region. Ability to work some nights and weekends.
