Tiger Activity Center Program Supervisor

The Delano Public School District’s Community Education Department is seeking applicants for a Tiger Activity Center (TAC) Program Supervisor. The Tiger Activity Center is Delano’s premier family recreation facility. The TAC currently has more than 2200 members.  

The position is a full-time, twelve month position. The work schedule will require flexibility for days, some evenings, and some weekends. Salary will be commensurate with experience, with a benefits package that includes medical insurance.

Position Summary:

The program supervisor provides overall leadership for the Tiger Activity Center by providing management of the facility, staff, business operations, and programming.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Tiger Activity Center
  • Oversee aquatics program (including pool manager)
  • Customer service
  • Staff hiring and supervision
  • Management of assigned budgets

·         Oversight of revenue / financial record keeping / deposits

  • Program / event development, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Communications and marketing
  • Coordination of some Community Education enrichment and recreation classes, especially in the areas of fitness and wellness
  • Scheduling of district and city facilities and fields
  • Potential for involvement as Community Education liaison with various community organizations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Education, Business, Community Education or related field

Desired Knowledge / Experience:

·         Knowledge of the recreation / fitness industry (including fitness equipment)

·         Previous relevant experience highly desirable

·         Experience in business management preferred

·         Strong computer skills and ability to learn / use specialized software

·         Experience managing budgets, handling money and keeping financial records

·         Knowledge of aquatics is preferred

·         Experience developing marketing plans and marketing materials is desirable

·         Experience in facilities scheduling is desirable

Skills / Qualifications:

·         Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills

·         Demonstrated skills in staff supervision and training

·         Ability to effectively lead a team to achieve outcomes

·         Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, school / Community Education staff, and the public

·         Demonstrated skills in program / event development, planning, implementation, and evaluation

·         Demonstrated skills in budget management

·         Problem solving and conflict management skills 


·         Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Position reports to: Community Education Director
