Position Title: ECFE and PreK Outreach Coordinator

Department: Community Education, Early Childhood

Primary Objectives of the Position: To assist families in accessing the early childhood programs offered by school district by providing parent support, education and outreach. Commitment to Roseville Area Schools’ mission, “Quality Teaching and Learning for All …. Equity in All We Do.”

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Outreach to underserved families/communities to provide services that will increase school readiness skills and close the opportunity gap.
Provide families with support needed to register and participate in early childhood programs: access Pathways scholarships, fee assistance, transportation, and interpreters.
Occasional home visits and parent meetings to support family involvement and promote program participation.
Respond to parent phone calls about registration for programs, using language line as needed.
Coordinate bus transportation to PreK classes, including routes changes and updates.
Facilitate a community needs assessment process.
Community outreach ideas and event planning to increase participation in early childhood programs.
Program support in the areas of para evaluations and staff scheduling.
Contribute to program ideas, planning and activities.
Support teachers and students in the classroom as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of ECFE, Early Childhood Screening and PreK programs.
Experience teaching in an early childhood program.
Experience working with and understanding the needs of underserved populations.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Professional communication with parents via phone, email and in person, using interpreters as needed.
Computer skills, including the ability to navigate and use online database, billing systems and google docs.
Planning and organizing data collection and analysis.
Excellent organizational skills.
Flexible to meet changing program needs.
Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as being a productive member of the administrative team.
Experience conducting staff trainings.
Early childhood and/or parent educator license preferred.

Salary: 12 month position, 231 days work calendar. Starting salary is $49,827 plus a district contribution towards insurance and other benefits.
