Administrative Support/Human Resource Staffing Specialist – Community Ed

Position: Community Education Staffing Specialist
Purpose: To assist staff between Community Education and Human Resources to
coordinate, implement, and maintain human resources staffing and payroll
Primary Customers: Internal: Employees
External: Individuals seeking employment or requesting assistance.
Position Qualifications: Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Two years post-secondary education + 2 years experience, or a 4-year HRrelated
Minimum of three years’ experience working in an office environment with HR
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Statistical aptitude and attention to detail desired.
Ability to set priorities, organize tasks, handle multiple duties, and meet
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled at working on teams and providing excellent customer service.
Knowledge of human resources systems, database/spreadsheet applications
and community education processes preferred.

1. Data management and technology integration. Maintain data regarding human resources functions,
business office functions and processes related to staffing, hiring, mandated training, scheduling, payroll
and other personnel functions. Prepare reports as required by Community Education or Human Resources
staff. Assist with the implementation of technology such as TIES, STAR, Laserfiche, AppliTrack, AESOP,
Eleyo, Veritime, Internet and web initiatives, and other HR systems. Assist all departments to
systematically improve processes. Attend training to improve knowledge base.
Result: Technology is systematically applied to human resource processes. All data and reports are
prepared in an accurate, timely and usable manner.
2. Resource to employees. Work with the human resources and community education teams to provide
employee and benefit information to the department or other employees as required. Process employee
status changes such as absences, leaves, lane changes and/or other employee status changes. Provide
contract, policy or procedural information to district staff.
Result: Information is accurate, complete, and up to date.
3. Recruitment and hiring. Work with the Human Resources and Community Education teams to
coordinate the recruitment and hiring functions for staffing, such as post available positions, utilize various
marketing strategies for new positions, maintain applicant files, maintain information on database, and
applicant correspondence, interview assistance, calculate salaries, prepare authorization forms, and ensure
that all required information is received to complete employee’s personnel and payroll file.
Result: Recruitment and hiring functions are professionally handled.
4. Human resources related training and development support. Ensure proper onboarding process for all
new Community Education staff and annual trainings for existing staff. Coordinate the use of pertinent
written materials and appropriate training sessions for a variety of platforms utilized within the Eden
Prairie system. These include, but not limited to: AESOP, Veritime, Schoology, Followme, Google Drive, TS
Gold, Eleyo, Outlook, MyView, staff intranet, CPR/First aid.
Result: Community Education staff are trained in district and department policies and procedures.
5. Other duties. Serve as a back up for other administrators in the department. Assist with the security I.D.
program. Provide applicable training and guidance for employees as needed. Serve as an off-site member
of the Human Resources team. Other duties as required.
Result: All duties are performed in a timely and professional manner. All employee information is accurate

Working conditions are determined by written contract between the Eden Prairie School’s Classified
Administrative and Support Staff (CLASS) and the Eden Prairie School District.
A continuous performance improvement process will be developed with the Community Education Director.
